Capacity is one of the main issues that faces
the West’s rail system. With the growth in Intermodal
traffic and other rail served businesses, some areas simply
cannot support any more rail movement on their current
tracks. Cedar City is a twenty-one mile branch that is
severely under-utilized. The potential for growth on this
branch could be very aggress.
Land
in these areas has also become scarce. With the growing
importance of rail, finding the right location with
available land is an exercise in futility. Cedar City has
incredible potential by setting up Port 15 Utah.
